In the present paper we review the contribution of the LICE (Lega Italiana contro l'Epilessia) “study group on epilepsy and cerebral tumors” to the development of the research and care in this specific field. The first result of this group, active since 2012, was the creation of a large network among neurologists, neuroradiologists and neurosurgeons through common collaborative studies aimed to collect patients and identify the patterns of care in different centers. A second achievement was the preparation of guidelines for medical treatment of brain tumor-related epilepsy, with special emphasis on the use of the EEG, seizure prophylaxis and medical treatment of seizures. Lastly a new collaborative study aimed to identify the prognostic value of seizures in the follow up of patients with high grade gliomas has been recently approved by the study group.
